OVERVIEW
Situated to the south of Japan and to the north of Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands comprise 14 islands, the most important ones being Rota, Saipan and Tinian. The cluster is compact, composed by a single chain 736km long. High volcanic cones are found in the islands.
