OVERVIEW
Situated on the eastern Baltic coast, Lithuania is a country of lowland plains and hilly uplands with a complex network of rivers, including the Nemunas and the Neris. The geometrical centre of Europe is located near the village of Bernotai, 25km north of Vilnius. There are over 2800 lakes, most of them lying in the east of the country (Lake Druksiai and Lake Tauragnas, just to name a few).
Lithuanian people are mainly Roman Catholic and their official language is Lithuanian. The country has wet, moderate winters and summers. The country's currency is the Litas.
