Located in the province of Malaga, Torremolinos offers excellent beaches, an unequal climate and a historic atmosphere which makes it one of Costa del Sol's favourite destinations.
Some of Torremolinos' tourist attractions include the parish church of Nuestra Senora del Carmen; Casa de los Navaja, a great example of noble architecture built in the 19th century; and Torre de Pimentel or Torre de los Molinos, from which the city takes its name.
La Carihuela is one of the most important districts since it preserves its seafaring atmosphere. In addition, you should not miss soaking up the sun in beaches such as Bajondillo, Carihuela, Los Alamos or Playamar.
Torremolinos hosts three major events: the Fair and Festival in honour of San Miguel, the city's patron saint; the Pilgrimage of San Miguel, in September; and the Fair of El Carmen, where the virgin's image is taken on a procession.
Last but not least, Torremolinos' specialties are the famous 'pescaito frito' (fried fish), and many other dishes also based on produce from the sea.
