OVERVIEW
The province of Alicante is situated in the section of the Mediterranean coast known as The Costa Blanca or White Coast, which features two different landscapes: to the north, mountains runnning parallel to the sea; whereas, to the south, a large plain of sand beaches, palm trees and salt deposits.
The temperature is usually mild (annual average is 17C) and there is hardly any rain. The landscape is characterised by fields of almond trees, vineyards, fruit orchards and impressive palm trees. Alicante offers sports harbours as well as an excellent hotel infrastructure.
In many towns of the province, visitors can enjoy a very well-known celebration, the Festivity of the Moors and Christians, which reflects the Moslem defeat.
