Near San Marino, Rimini attracts many tourists to its fine beaches.
You can reach the city by air, Rimini-San Marino International Airport offers flights from all major cities in Italy as well as some in other European countries; by car, via the A1 and by train, there are good connections with Bologna and other major cities.
Built in 27 BC, Rimini's most famous feature is the Augustus Arch which marks the entrance to the ancient Roman city that once was there. Another important sight is the Malatesta Temple, with a Gothic interior. Many open plazas and isolated medieval courtyards such as Malatesta square and the enchanting Piazzetta Gregorio da Rimini are some other places of interest.
Daytrips include the Marecchia Valley, an area surrounded by rocky hills and the Romangda region, where visitors can admire the spectacular Apennines Mountains.
Rimini boasts the best amusement park in Italy, Rimini, Rimini, Rimini! Entrance is free and there are traditional amusement park options such as rides and games. For a quieter time, the park also has a massive green area with many private spots for picnics.
In July/August the temperatures reach 30C. In May or June it is still hot. Winter is grey and cold and temperatures reach 10C.
