OVERVIEW
Bari, situated on the coast of the Puglia province, is a city of interesting museums, entertaining nightlife as well as relaxing beaches.
You can reach the city by air, Bari Airport has flights to and from other cities in the region, including Naples and Rome; or by ferry, from Corfu on Ventouris Lines.
Some of the city features include the Basilica di San Nicola, containing some of the best stonework in the nation and the relics of San Nicola, taken from the Byzantines during the Crusades; the 900-year old Cattedrale di San Sabino, with a timber roof; and the Museo Archeologico.
Visitors can enjoy from a drive along the coastline watching the ocean from the high cliffs, trekking through the thick woods, horseback riding, walking along the old city's streets or relaxing in one of the many pizzerias.
The summer is normally hot and humid, with an average maximum temperatures of 30C. The autumn tends to be quite rainy while the winter is mild with temperatures of about 10C.
