OVERVIEW
Situated near the North Sea, Bremen is Germany's oldest coastal town and a major port.
You can access the city by air, Bremen Flughafen is the nearest airport; by car; or by train, the city is well connected with the InterCity rail network.
Bremen's main attractions include the impressive St Peters Cathedral (Dom St Petri), overlooking the rest of the Altstadt (old town); the Kunsthalle Art Gallery, featuring 19th and 20th century German and French art; and the Focke-Museum, which recounts the history of Bremen and the surrounding areas. Also of interest is the lively market square where the 560-year-old Rathaus (town hall) is located.
In the Altstadt you can find a wide variety of enchanting shops as well as good cafes and restaurants where you can try a famous German torte and beer. Shopping is best along the Obernstrasse and Sogestrasse, and there are many boutiques in the Schnoor.
The temperatures in summer range from 19-22C and winter about 10-15C.
