Reims boasts 155 miles of cellars and crayeres (Gallo-Roman chalk vaults). Reims is situated in the geographical area called 'Champagne', which is made up of several soil types of different characteristics.
Some of Reims' tourist attractions include the Notre Dame Cathedral, formerly used for the coronations of French kings; the Tau Palace, now housing a museum; the Saint-Remi Basilica, the largest Romanesque pilgrimage church in northern France; and the Saint-Remi Museum, with collections from Prehistory to the Renaissance.
