OVERVIEW
Part of the Cyclades Islands, Naxos is the largest and most fertile of all.
Naxos Town (or Chora) is the capital and the main port. Places of interest here include the ruins of a Venetian castle; and the 'Pirgos Bellonia' (Bellonian Tower), built as a refuge from pirates; and the Archaeological Museum, housed in the former Jesuit School of Commerce.
Naxos is also famous for its beautiful sandy beaches such as Agia Anna, Agios Georgios and Agios Prokopios.
