Congo is an independent republic with a democratic government which is located between Gabon and the Democratic Republic of Congo (formerly Zaire) and forms part of the West Central African Region. The capital city is Brazzaville. Other major towns are Loubomo and the port of Pointe-Noire.
Congolese people mainly hold traditional beliefs and their official language is French. The country has a rainy season (March to June) and a dry season (June to October). Congo's currency is the Communaute Financiere Africaine franc. Visas are required by all nationals in order to visit Congo.
